Uccle, Belgium September 23, 2019: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Belgian Functional Fitness Federation as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Belgium.
Wesley Neckebroeck, President of the Belgian Federation, announced, “My team and I have been working hard for this to happen for the past few months. We are excited to finally join the big family, so now Belgium is represented.”
He went on to explain that, “We are applying for governmental recognition as we speak.We aim to start official competitions in Belgium this year and prepare to send the Belgian athletes to the International Functional Fitness Federation World Championships next year.”
The Belgian Federation will be aiming to make their first appearance at the iF3 World Championships in 2020 which will be held in August in Abbotsford, Canada. More information about the work of the Belgian Federation is available at www.functional-fitness-belgium.com/.
Neckebroeck expressed his excitement about the future saying, “We look forward to the day when we represent Belgium in the Olympic Games.”
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “We are very excited to welcome the Belgian Federation to the iF3. We look forward to having Belgian athletes at next year’s World Championships and seeing the growth of the sport in Belgium under the Belgian Federation.”
