All Japan Functional Fitness Federation Announced

Tokyo, Japan April 16, 2018: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the All Japan Functional Fitness Federation as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Japan.

Andy Bruce, President of the Japanese Federation, announced, “We are very excited for being recognized as the Governing Body for the Sport of Functional Fitness in Japan. We will work hard to promote the understanding of Functional Fitness as a Sport and set high standards to govern and represent Japan in the world according to the guidance and guidelines of iF3.”

He went on to explain that, “We hope to invite coaches and Japanese Athletes to join our Federation, promote the Sport of Functional Fitness and form a team that will represent Japan in the coming Functional Fitness Federation World Championships”

The Japanese Federation will be looking to send a contingent of Japanese athletes to compete at the International Functional Fitness Federation World Championships this fall. The World Championships will be held October 5-7th, 2018 in London, England and feature athletes from around the world. More information about the work of the Japanese Federation will be available soon, as their website and social media platforms are still developing.

Bruce expressed his excitement about the future saying, “We believe that the Sport of Functional Fitness has a bright future in Japan, and we will do our best to make it grow and represent the values of the iF3 in this beautiful country”.

Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “The addition of the Japanese Federation marks an exciting expansion into East Asia for the International Functional Fitness Federation. As our first Member Federation in the East Asia region we will look to the Japanese Federation to serve as leaders in sport and athlete development in this area of the world. We eagerly look forward to welcoming Japanese athletes to Worlds for the first time in 2018.”
