Guatemala City, Guatemala February 210, 2020: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Asociacion de Functional Fitness de Guatemala as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Guatemala.
Harry Jager, President of the Guatemala Federation, announced, “This is a great step for the future of the sport to have Guatemala participating along top athletes from around the world. There is so much talent in Guatemala, and we are excited to give these athletes in Guatemala an opportunity to grow in this sport”.
He went on to explain that, “we plan to send athletes to the World Championships and give opportunities to these competitive athletes. We know that our athletes here in Guatemala are more than capable of competing along side some of the best from around the world”.
The Guatemala Federation will be aiming to make their first appearance at the iF3 World Championships in 2020. The 2020 World Championships will be held August 21-23 in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Harry Jager expressed his excitement about the future saying, “the main purpose of starting this organization in Guatemala is to support and educate more athletes while giving them the tools to be successful in this sport.”

The sport has been growing rapidly in the Latin American region, and we look forward to working with the Guatemalan Federation as they strive to maximize that growth in both their own country and the entire region.”
