San José, Costa Rica November 2, 2022: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Asociación Deportiva De Entrenamiento Funcional Y Fuerza as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Costa Rica.
Esteban Castro, President of the Costa Rican Federation, announced, “starting today we will be part of the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3)”
He went on to explain that, “we want to professionalize the sport in Costa Rica and give to our athletes the best benefits of be part of this association, and we will make a national ranking for the next year.”
The Costa Rican Federation is now eligible to send athletes to iF3 international events. Their first opportunity to do so will be at 2022 iF3 Masters Worlds and 2022 iF3 Worlds in November and December respectively. Castro expressed his excitement about the future saying, “we are really happy to be part of the International Functional Fitness Federation, we want to help and grow the sport worldwide and expose our athletes to compete with the top world athletes.”
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “We are very excited to add Costa Rica to our family of iF3 Federations. It was a focus of ours this year to encourage the development of new federations in the Pan-American region, and we are excited that the Costa Rican Federation is stepping up to that challenge. We look forward to seeing their development of the federation and having their athletes at international events.”
