Toulouse, France July 1, 2019: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Association Française de Functional Fitness as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in France.
Benjamin Moreau, President of the French Federation, announced, “We are really happy and excited about starting a French Federation as a member of iF3. We immediately identified ourselves with the message delivered by iF3 and the goals for the development of the sport at a national and international level.”
He went on to explain that, “As we are still young, our first goal will be to promote the association and unify all the functional fitness enthusiast in France. We also plan to build certifications for coaches and technical officers to ensure we can have a great national championship next year.”
The French Federation have set their sites on attending their first iF3 World Championships in 2019. The 2019 World Championships will be held in Malmo, Sweden from August 30- September 1 and will feature athletes from around the world. Moreau expressed his excitement about the future saying, “France is a great country for functional fitness development and we hope to grow a great federation driven by the love of the sport and the values promoted by iF3 at our core. We want to put the athlete’s best interests as a top priority by providing high quality standards in all the areas of the sport.”
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “We are very excited to welcome the French Federation to the iF3 family. France has been developing a very strong caliber of functional fitness athletes over the past few years, and we look forward to seeing them in iF3 competition. The team behind the French Federation is very motivated to help grow the sport in France, and we know they will do a good job of developing a strong federation for their country.”
