Minsk, Belarus January 23, 2025: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ ФУНКЦИОНАЛЬНОГО МНОГОБОРЬЯ РБ (BFFM) as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in the Republic of Belarus.
Denis Kniaziuk, President of the BFFM, announced, “Since its foundation in 2019, our federation has sought not only to popularize functional all-around in Belarus, but also to bring athletes to the international level. iF3 recognition is an important step in this direction.”
He went on to explain that, “This year we will focus our efforts on organizing national competitions, developing young athletes and preparing for participation in international iF3 tournaments. We intend to prove that Belarus will represent itself with dignity on the world stage.”
Athletes from Belarus will now be eligible to attend iF3 international events. However, their attendance will be in accordance with the current iF3 regulations surrounding the participation of neutral athletes with Russian or Belarussian passports. Their first opportunities to compete will be at 2025 iF3 Asian Championships, tentatively planned for August, as well as the iF3 World Championships and Masters World Championships later in the fall. More information about the work of the BFFM is available at http://bffm.by/.
Kniaziuk expressed his excitement about the future saying, “We are pleased to be part of the global iF3 community. This opens up new opportunities for our athletes, and we are confident that this is just the beginning of a long and successful journey for functional all-around sports in Belarus.”
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “We just recently learned of the existence of the Belarussian Federation. However, they have been in operation since 2019 and are well established within Belarus. We are excited to be able to add them as a new member of the iF3 as they continue to work hard to grow the sport in their country and region.”
