Laurent Selleslaghs – Secretary General
Laurent Selleslaghs serves as Secretary General of the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3), where he is responsible for supporting the federation’s strategic development, governance, operational coordination, and international relations.
Prior to his appointment as Secretary General, Selleslaghs held leadership roles within iF3, including serving as Chair of the Technical Officials Committee. Through his work with technical standards, event operations, and international officiating programs, he has played an active role in the continued professionalization and global development of the sport of Functional Fitness.
Professionally, Selleslaghs brings more than three decades of public service experience. He served for ten years as a paramedic before pursuing a career in law enforcement, where he has accumulated over twenty years of experience as a police officer. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, operational excellence, public safety, and organizational development.
In addition to his public service career, Selleslaghs has been involved in sport governance and officiating for more than twenty-five years. He previously served as a Board Member of the Flanders Taekwondo Federation and as Chair of the Provincial Taekwondo Association of Antwerp. As an International Taekwondo Referee in both Kyorugi and Poomsae disciplines, he officiated at numerous national and international competitions and contributed to the advancement of officiating standards within the sport.
Since 2013, Selleslaghs has been actively involved in Functional Fitness as both an athlete and sport official. Beginning in 2016, he officiated at numerous national and international Functional Fitness competitions across multiple continents, gaining extensive experience in competition management, judging systems, and event operations.
He also served as Operations Director for Community Fitness Events, overseeing the planning and delivery of competitions in eight countries and contributing significantly to the growth and professional organization of large-scale Functional Fitness events.
Through his combined experience in public service, sport governance, officiating, and international event management, Selleslaghs brings a comprehensive understanding of organizational leadership and sports administration. His work within iF3 focuses on strengthening governance structures, supporting member federations, enhancing event standards, and advancing the global recognition and development of Functional Fitness.
