Prague, Czech Republic June 6, 2018: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Czech Functional Fitness Federation as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in the Czech Republic.
Michal Bohumel, Chairman of the Czech Federation, announced, “I am honored to announce we are launching our Czech Functional Fitness Federation and creating new opportunities for athletes, coaches, fans in the long-term. Being a member of iF3 is a very important part for our own growth and growth of functional fitness as a sport worldwide.”
He went on to explain that, “Our main goal is to spread the message amongst the whole functional fitness industry in Czech Republic. We plan to select athletes for a national team in August at an Athlete Camp held in Prague (more info to come) and represent Czech Republic at iF3 World Championship in London, England in October.”
The Czech Federation will be looking to send a contingent of athletes to compete at the International Functional Fitness Federation World Championships this fall. The World Championships will be held October 5-7th, 2018 in London, England and features athletes from around the world. Bohumel expressed his excitement about the future saying, “We may start humbly but have great plans in front of us. To be at the beginning of something bigger than all of us is exciting. There is tons of hard work to be done.”
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “We are very excited to add the Czech Republic to our growing list of National Federations and even more excited to see their athletes compete at Worlds in October. Michal and his team in the Czech Republic were one of the first groups to express an interest in forming a Federation, so it is very rewarding to see their hard work pay off with the official launch of their Federation.”
