  • on October 3, 2017

Almaty, Kazakhstan October 3rd, 2017: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of Республиканская Федерация Функционального Многоборья as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Kazakhstan.

Alexandr Obleuhov, President of the Kazakh Federation, stated, “The development of sport in the country and indeed in the whole world is very important, and we are excited to be a part of the development of functional fitness as a sport.”

“We are working very hard to develop strong athletes in Kazakhstan who will be ready to compete on the international stage and at the World Championships next season.”

Though visa issues will prevent the Kazakh athletes from competing at the 2017 International Functional Fitness Championships to be held October 21-22 in Concord, California, they are committed to developing a strong national program in time for the 2018 season. More information about the work of the Kazakh Federation is available at: www.instagram.com/ifff_kz

Obleuhov also expressed his excitement for the future of the sport and the Federation by saying “We hope that in the near future we will receive governmental recognition and support, which will allow us to develop in full force.”

Gretchen Kittelberger, Head of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “The Kazakh Federation has actually existed for several years and is already a well established organization in their country. We are excited to be able to add them to our group of National Federations and recognize the hard work they have been doing for the promotion of the sport in Kazakhstan.”
