Tbilisi, Georgia, May 14, 2025: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3)
announced its recognition of the Georgian Functional Fitness Federation as the national
governing body for competitive functional fitness in Georgia.
Ivane Ergemlidze, President of the Georgian Functional Fitness Federation, announced, “We are
thrilled and proud to become members of the IF3. This milestone not only connects us with the
global fitness community but also creates incredible opportunities for our athletes to compete
internationally, gain valuable experience, and elevate the standard of functional fitness in
Georgia”
Mr. Ergemlidze went on to explain that, “At this point we’re in the process of organising the
inaugural National Championship, we are planning to launch the first qualifying stage at the
beginning of June. The interest and the support already shown from the various gyms and athletes nationwide lead us to believe the event planned will be instrumental in the development of functional
fitness in Georgia and will offer a pathway for thousands of Georgian athletes to compete
against each other.”
Athletes from Georgia will now be eligible to attend iF3 international events. Their first
opportunities to compete will be at the iF3 World Championships and Masters World
Championships later in the fall. More information about the work of the Georgian Functional
Fitness Federation will be available at www.gf3.ge.
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation,
commented, “We are very excited to add the Georgian Functional Fitness Federation as an iF3
member. The iF3 is continuing to expand further into the European and Asian regions, and the
team behind the Georgian Federation will provide strong leadership to help support that growth.
We look forward to seeing their athletes compete on the international stage for the first time.”
