April 20th, 2020: The iF3 announced today that Sweden’s Anders Behrmann has been added to the iF3 Board of Directors. Behrmann will be taking over the Secretary General role, while current Secretary General John Mustafa will move to the Vice President role.
Behrmann has been involved in the sport of functional fitness since 2012. He has been an integral part of the Swedish national federation (Svenska Förbundet för Funktionell Fitness) since its inception. Behrmann was also the event director for last year’s iF3 World Championships in his hometown Malmo, Sweden. Behrmann, who has been working in the media industry as a journalist for more than 20 years, is set to make an immediate impact at the iF3 assisting with organization of content, marketing materials, and partnership discussions.
iF3 President, Gretchen Kittelberger, welcomed Behrmann to the Board saying, “We are very excited to welcome Anders to the iF3 Board of Directors. He was incredibly organized and easy to work with last year in planning our World Championships in Sweden, and we know he will be able to make positive contributions in areas where we are currently weak at the international level.”
Behrmann expressed his excitement at joining the iF3 Board saying, “I’m really happy and honored to be a part of this movement. I’ve been involved with sports and sport governance for many years, and I truly believe that we can make functional fitness a great sport and hopefully a part of the Olympic family in the near future.”
The iF3 is still accepting applications for one additional open Board of Directors seat. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and role expectations and application procedures are posted on the iF3 website at https://functionalfitness.sport/get-involved/
