iF3 Announces Cleans for Clean Sport Fundraiser

  • By iF3
  • on April 4, 2022

April 4, 2022: The International Functional Fitness Federation will be hosting the Cleans for Clean Sport Fundraiser May 5th through 15th in order raise funds to cover the costs of the WADA Signatory Application process. Athletes, coaches, fans, and anyone believing in the value of clean sport can pledge their commitment to competing clean by registering for and completing the workout which has been programmed for the event by Rob Forte of We Are Unifyd. Donations made during the registration process will go towards the costs of becoming a Signatory to the World Antidoping Code.

While the iF3 already has antidoping rules in place and already conducts testing through the International Testing Agency (ITA), it is a requirement that the iF3 become a signatory to the World Antidoping Code before it can become IOC recognized or be on the Olympic Program. Due to recent policy changes at the World Antidoping Agency (WADA), the iF3 now has the opportunity to apply to become a WADA signatory prior to achieving GAISF Observer Status.

However, this process comes with a hefty price tag, including a $20,000 USD application fee and a $10,000 annual membership fee, plus the cost of the testing program itself.

iF3 President Gretchen Kittelberger commented, “ensuring functional fitness remains clean is vital to protecting the integrity and legitimacy of our sport. The iF3 owes it to their athletes to provide a level playing field. A World Championship title means nothing if athletes cannot walk on to the field of play knowing they are competing on a stage where only their skill, hard work, natural talent, and training program will separate the best from the rest.”

The iF3 is a volunteer run 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Donations made may be tax deductible in the United States.
