As part of its mission to achieve recognition from the International Olympic Committee and lobby to get functional fitness onto the Olympic Program, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) is committed to conducting clean sporting events. In order to ensure the fairness and integrity of sport, the iF3 has committed to implementing and complying with the World Anti-Doping Code (Code) put in place by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The iF3’s Congress Meeting and General Assembly on October 20th will include a session on formulating organizational policies which will meet the Code requirements. As part of following the code, the iF3 is working toward establishing a WADA compliant anti-doping education and testing program. We believe that athletes deserve to take the competition floor with full confidence in the fact that they are competing against a playing field where everyone is abiding by the same rules.
Anti-doping programs seek to preserve what is intrinsically valuable about sport. This intrinsic value is often referred to as “the spirit of sport”. It is the essence of Olympism, the pursuit of human excellence through the dedicated perfection of each person’s natural talents. It is how we play true. The spirit of sport is the celebration of the human spirit, body and mind, and is characterized by the following values reflected in values we find in and through sport, including:
- Ethics, fair play and honesty
- Health
- Excellence in performance
- Character and education
- Fun and joy
- Teamwork
- Dedication and commitment
- Respect for rules and laws
- Respect for self and other participants
- Courage
- Community and solidarity
Doping is fundamentally contrary to the spirit of sport.
We are asking our supporters who believe in maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of the sport to support our efforts by donating specifically to our Anti-Doping Fundraising campaign. You can donate online at https://www.crowdrise.com/support-if3s-drug-testing-program
