Today the iF3 announced that it has entered into an agreement with National Anti-Doping Organization of Hungary (HUNADO) to provide antidoping services at the iF3 European Championships in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary at the end of the month. Antidoping testing will occur at the event, as well as a one hour mandatory educational session for all competing athletes.
HUNADO signed the World Antidoping Code in 2007, and guarantees that it conducts all its activities in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code. HUNADO is a fully independent organization whose the fundamental aim is to maintain the true spirit of sport and defend the rights of clean athletes.
iF3 President Gretchen Kittelberger stated, “The iF3 takes clean sport very seriously and is constantly working to expand our antidoping program. We are very grateful to HUNADO for being willing to work with us and allowing us to offer antidoping testing at the European Championships for the very first time. The iF3’s goal is to become a WADA signatory, and every time we can work with organizations like HUNADO it brings us one step closer to that goal.”
HUNADO also commented on the relationship saying “HUNADO is delighted that, in addition to traditional sports, emerging, fresh and promising international sports federations such as iF3 also choose HUNADO’s services. We are confident that our cooperation will be long-lasting and fruitful, as HUNADO and iF3 are bound together by a common passion: the love of sport and the protection of clean athletes.” The iF3 European Championships will take place June 30 to July 2nd in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. The competition will be held in the iF3’s new Hypermedley format, which requires athletes to complete 6 tests in roughly 2 hours. The competition will also feature the first every iF3 Pairs Hypermedley competition. The Individual Male and Female winner of the European Championships will earn an automatic invite to iF3 Worlds in Norway in November.
