February 25, 2019: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation announced it has joined the Global Association of International Sport Federations (GAISF) .sport initiative with a new website domain name functionalfitness.sport.

The initiative, managed and governed by GAISF, offers reputable sports stakeholders the opportunity to secure a unique domain name, helping their organization stand out in the crowded internet environment.

Key benefits of adopting a .sport domain name are:

Acceptance and Trust – .sport underscores membership of the global sports eco-system.

Authenticity – Resulting from fair scrutiny of applicants

Visibility – value of .sport on search engines.

A .sport domain is available only to recognized and legitimate bodies, ranging from sports governing bodies to events, clubs and the companies which supply the goods and services on which sport relies. GAISF’s ownership of the domain protects the integrity of .sport by ensuring that only properly qualified organizations and individuals can use it.

Many governing bodies and sports stakeholders have already adopted the initiative, including the Federation Internationale De Gymnastique (FIG; gymnastics.sport), the International Testing Agency (ITA; ita.sport), and the next Youth Olympic Games (lausanne2020.sport).

Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “We are incredibly excited to being joining GAISF’s .sport initiative. Being a part of this movement allows us to solidify and signify that we are a legitimate representative of the sporting community and are hard at work governing our sport with integrity and credibility. We are grateful to GAISF for creating this great opportunity for sports organizations.”

For more information on the .sport extension program, please contact Pierre Germeau at pierre.germeau@gaisf.sport and visit https://gaisf.sport/sport-initiative/
