He went on to explain that, “our plans for this year will be to reach out in the Icelandic fitness community, get athletes excited about the opportunity to represent their country and work towards having an Icelandic Team at 2020 Worlds.”

The Icelandic Federation will be looking forward to having a presence at the iF3 World Championships in 2020. The location of the 2020 World Championships will be announced prior to the kick off of the 2019 Worlds in Malmo, Sweden August 30-September 1st 2019. Don expressed his excitement about the future saying, “With the rich heritage and history in strength and fitness sports in Iceland, I can’t wait to see how the Viking Athletes can light up the iF3 worlds!”

Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “Iceland has traditionally been a powerhouse in the competitive functional fitness arena, and we are very excited for the quality of athlete and level of experience they will bring to the iF3.
