Latvijas Funkcionala Fitnesa Federacija Announced

Riga, Latvia October 14th, 2017: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of Latvijas Funkcionala Fitnesa Federacija as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Latvia.

Arturs Nehajenko, Founder of the Latvian Federation, stated, “We, as a small nation, are proud to be a part of something bigger and compete at the very first Championship organized by iF3. LFFF athletes are excited to be at the event and represent Latvia.”

“Latvia is sending three individual males to compete at the iF3 Championships next weekend and look forward to making our mark on the international stage.”

The 2017 International Functional Fitness Championships will be held October 21-22 at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California. The Latvian athletes will be competing against other athletes from around the globe in the inaugural world championship competition. Nehajenko also expressed his excitement for the future of the sport and the Federation by saying “I believe Functional Fitness has a great future as a sport, and there is a great opportunity here for all nations and countries to showcase their greatest athletes.”

Gretchen Kittelberger, Head of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “We are very impressed with the speed at which the Latvian Federation was able to organize and send athletes to compete at our Championships. We are very excited to watch them take that passion and help develop and grow the sport in Latvia and the Baltic Region.”
