Tripoli, Libya June 23, 2020:  Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Libyan Functional Fitness Federation as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Libya.

Fauzi Elarbi, President of the Libyan Federation, announced, “I am very happy to accept membership in the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) and for being a part of this great team. We are very happy to have succeeded in establishing the Libyan Functional Fitness Federation – LF3, and look forward to working with the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) to bring this sport to Olympic Games.”

He went on to explain that, “My first mission is to give full effort to organize the first National LF3 championship, so we can chose champions to appearance at the iF3 Continental Cup and the next World Championships.”

The Libyan Federation is now eligible to send athletes to the iF3 Continental Cup in December, which is a live online event for the top athletes. The Continental Cup is replacing this year’s World Championships, which was canceled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Elarbi expressed his excitement about the future saying, “I see a great future for this nice sport”.

Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “The addition of the Libyan Federation continues our growth on the African continent. We will look to the Libyan Federation to help strengthen the presence of the sport in their country and work with their neighbors to help assist in the growth of the sport on the African continent. We can’t wait to have our first Libyan athletes competing at international events.”
