  • on February 21, 2022

It looks like the Masters community will be looking forward to some sunny workouts as it has been decided that Aruba will host the 2022 iF3 Masters World Championships.

The competition will offer age divisions starting at 30 years of age and increasing in 5 year increments, with the highest age division being 65+. Each National Federation that is a member of the iF3 will be allowed to send up to 3 male and 3 female athletes to compete per age category, with the exception of Aruba, which as the host nation is eligible to send additional athletes to the event.

The competition will take place on November 18-20th in Aruba, with the event venues to be announced later.

Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation commented:

“We are incredibly excited to bring Master’s Worlds to Aruba. When looking for hosts for Master’s Worlds we always look for places that not only have the capability to put on a great event, but also ones that offer fantastic cultural and tourism experiences for our athletes. Aruba, which is known by the phrase One Happy Island, will be perfect for that, and we are confident that the team behind Functional Fitness Aruba will organize a stellar event for our Masters.”

William Erasmus, President of Functional Fitness Aruba also expressed enthusiasm for the event saying:

“On behalf of the entire F3Aruba organization, We are very delighted to have the opportunity to host a unique event such as the International Functional Fitness World Championship Masters 2022 and we feel privileged to have the opportunity to host this amazing community and to spread the love we have for the sport and healthy lifestyle.”

Athletes interested in participating in the event should contact their National Federations to determine qualifying procedures. If you are interested in volunteering or judging at the event, applications will be available through the iF3 Masters Worlds website. More information about the event will be released in the coming months and will be added to https://www.if3mastersworlds.com.au/ as it becomes available.
