Tbilisi, Georgia, September 1 , 2026 : Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3)
announced its recognition of the Georgian Dynamic Shooting and Functional Fitness Federation
(GDSFF) as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Georgia. The GDSFF
replaces the Georgian Functional Fitness Federation, which is no longer operational.
George Gagnidze, President of the GDSFF, announced, “Membership in the iF3 gives Georgian
athletes what they have been missing — a direct path from our training halls to the
international stage. Georgia once had a seat at this table and lost it; we intend to keep it this
time, and we thank the iF3 for the trust and the speed with which they welcomed us.”
He went on to explain that, “Our plans for 2026 are practical: grow beyond our two hundred
registered members, develop our training facility in Sagarejo Municipality so that every
member has a place to train, keep building our youth programme, and prepare Georgian
athletes for their first iF3 starts.”
Athletes from Georgia can look forward to competing at several iF3 international events this
season, including Masters World Championships in Aruba, and World Championships in

Gagnidze expressed his excitement about the future saying. “Functional fitness in Georgia is
growing from the ground up, on the energy of people who simply love to train. Our door is
open — anyone who wants to help build this sport will find a place with us.”
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation,
commented, “The iF3 eagerly welcomes the Georgian Dynamic Shooting and Functional Fitness
Federation as our new National Federation member in Georgia. We are looking forward to
seeing the very first Georgian athletes compete on the international stage as soon as possible.”
