Rupelmonde, Belgium: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced that the Belgische Functionele Fitness Federatie (B3F) has replaced the long inoperative Belgian Functional Fitness Federation as the iF3 National Federation representing Belgium.
Tim Reynaert, President of the B3F announced, “Our federation was founded on a shared passion for functional fitness and the desire to create an organized and transparent structure for the sport in Belgium. We have been working quietly but steadily for years to build a foundation that aligns with the iF3’s principles and standards.”
He went on to explain that, “In 2025, our priority will be to increase national participation, take part in official competitions, and establish coaching and judging standards that meet international expectations. We also aim to field a strong national team for the iF3 World Championships later this year and in the near future.”
Athletes from Belgium will now be eligible to attend iF3 international events. Their first opportunities to compete will be at the World Championships and Masters World Championships this fall/winter. More information about the work of the B3F is available at www.b3f.be
Reynaert expressed his excitement about the future saying, “This is a new chapter for Belgian athletes. We are excited to build a thriving community that promotes integrity, inclusion, and performance. Our long-term goal is to inspire more Belgians to participate in functional fitness, from the grassroots level all the way to the world stage.”
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “The journey to having a strong and well-functioning National Federation in Belgium has been a long one. It has been quite a challenge to find the right team that would be capable of developing the sport in Belgium. However, I believe we have finally found a strong group that will help to take functional fitness in Belgium to the next level. We look forward to seeing Belgian athletes competing at international events soon.”
