Lahore, Pakistan April 21, 2019: Today, the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3) announced its recognition of the Pakistan Functional Fitness Federation as the national governing body for competitive functional fitness in Pakistan.
Waseem Gulzar, President of the Pakistan Functional Fitness Federation announced that “I feel proud to be a part of iF3. Our aim is getting everybody, from learners to cutting edge competitors, to their most elevated amount of wellness by making a strong network in Pakistan which propels, trains, and also teaches. It will help in continuing a way of life of readiness for everyone, each day, and is our responsibility. Improving the lives of each individual is our priority”.
Khawar Mateen, Secretary General of the Pakistani Federation, announced, “Working together with the iF3 is an enormous advance forward for efficient wellness in Pakistan. I anticipate persistently building up an administering structure which provides rules, security benchmarks, judge preparation and the open door for our competitors to contend at the Worlds in the future. I really feel honored to be associated with the structure and pathway for Functional Fitness to be incorporated into the Olympic Games”.
He went on to explain that, “Our first goals are to organize events from the club level to the national level in order to promote the Functional Fitness sports in Pakistan. We are also looking to select, prepare, train and support Pakistani athletes and teams to compete in regional and international events. The priority is to train coaches, judges and technical officials to implement the international rules and follow the standards of functional fitness sports in true spirit.”
The Pakistani Federation will be looking to send a contingent of athletes to compete at the International Functional Fitness Federation World Championships in 2019. The World Championships will be held August 30 to September 1st in Malmo, Sweden and will feature top athletes from around the world. Mateen expressed his excitement about the future saying, “I feel honored to join the iF3 and be the administering body for our Pakistani competitors. I anticipate allowing our Pakistani players to be a part of the Federation and offering them the opportunity to contend with the best from everywhere throughout the world.”
Gretchen Kittelberger, President of the International Functional Fitness Federation, commented, “With the addition of the Federation in Pakistan, we continue to expand the number of Federations in Asia. Asia is a continent where the sport is still in early stages of growth, and we are looking forward to seeing rapid expansion of the sport in Pakistan. We look forward to working closely with the Pakistani Federation to help facilitate this growth.”
