Proposals for 2022 iF3 General Assembly

  • By Anders Behrmann
  • on November 30, 2022

These are the proposals submitted for the 2022 iF3 General Assembly to be held in Hermosillo, Mexico on Thursday December 15th.

Federations not able to attend in person can join the assembly on Zoom. Email iF3 President Gretchen Kittelberger for link.

1. Membership Fees

Proposal:

The Membership Fee Structure for 2023 will be as follows:

  • National Federations 0-2 Years old: $0 USD
  • National Federations over 2 years old: $200 USD

Proposed by: iF3

2. World Championships Individuals and Teams

Proposal:

Beginning in 2025, the iF3 World Championships for Individuals and Teams will be held every other year in odd numbered years.

Proposed by: Norway
Seconded by: Sweden

Context:
  • Approving this proposal will have no effect on the frequency of Masters or Junior Worlds. It will also have no effect on the frequency of any continental championships.
  • If this proposal is approved, Worlds will continue annually in 2023, 2024, and 2025. After 2025 Worlds would move to a semi-annual schedule, occurring in 2025 and then not again until 2027.

3. World Championships Juniors

Proposal:

Beginning in 2025, the iF3 Junior World Championships will be held every other year in odd numbered years.

Proposed by: Norway
Seconded by: Sweden

Context:
  • Approving this proposal will have no effect on the frequency of Masters or Worlds for individuals and teams. It will also have no effect on the frequency of continental championships.
  • If this proposal is approved, Junior Worlds will continue annually in 2023, 2024, and 2025. After 2025 Worlds would move to a semi-annual schedule, occurring in 2025 and then not again until 2027.
  • Approving this proposal would only give Junior athletes 1 chance to compete in a given age group internationally before aging up to the next category. This would mean that athletes will either always be the youngest in their age group or always be oldest in their age group. The fairness and effect of this on the athletes, their confidence levels, and their potential competitive careers should be considered when voting.

4. Junior Competition Technique Points

Proposal:

Beginning in 2023, all Technique Points are removed from Junior level competition for all Junior age groups.

Proposed by: Norway
Seconded by: Sweden

Context:
  • Currently Junior athletes receive two scores per test, one score based on their time to complete the test and one based on their technique during the test on a 3 point scale. Both scores are weighted evenly on the leaderboard.
  • This proposal would eliminate all technique points for the juniors, and score the juniors on their time only, similar to senior level competition.

5. Number of Tests in Junior Competition AG 17-18

Proposal:

Beginning in 2023, the 17-18 Junior Age Group would complete all 6 tests in iF3 international competition.

Proposed by: Norway
Seconded by: Sweden

Context:
  • Currently Junior athletes complete 4 tests in iF3 international competition (endurance, strength, boydweight, and mixed).
  • This proposal would require the 17-18 age group athletes to also complete Skill and Power at iF3 international competitions.

6. Number of Tests in Junior Competition AG 15-16

Proposal:

Beginning in 2023, the 15-16 Junior Age Group would complete all 6 tests in iF3 international competition.

Proposed by: Norway
Seconded by: Sweden

Context:
  • Currently Junior athletes complete 4 tests in iF3 international competition (endurance, strength, boydweight, and mixed).
  • This proposal would require the 15-16 age group athletes to also complete Skill and Power at iF3 international competitions.
